Who Are We:
Every parent or guardian who has a child at Blackwell Primary School is automatically a member of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA is run by a committee made up of parents and school staff, who meet regularly throughout the year. You do not have to be on the committee to come to the meetings, everyone is extremely welcome. The committee arranges events, and then enlists the help of other parents to support and run them.
The PTA aims to help the school, and our children, primarily by fundraising to provide extra resources for the school, which the normal school budget does not allow for. The Parents Association also hopes that events organised are enjoyable social activities, to continue to build on the good community spirit within the school.
How do we Achieve our Aims?:
This is done by organising and running various social events throughout the school year, to raise money which is passed on to the school to purchase items on the schools 'wish list'.
Recent events that have been organised are; termly School Discos for the children, Easter Bonanza, Summer Fair and a Fashion Show evening for the parents.
Your support is invaluable, thank you.
Where the Money Goes:
Although the PTA usually has a larger project that they are aiming towards, the money raised also goes back to the children in other ways on a daily basis and subsidising trips.
We are a member of PTA-UK. for lots more useful information and advice visit their website:
